- Kurawanka Fireworks Display - We went to Yodogawa river, where there is a great display of fireworks every year. It was the first time for kids to see fireworks so closely. The sound was tremendous, but the view was quite impressive. August 29, 1999.
- Kaiyukan Aquarium - The big tank of Kaiyuukan Aquarium is worthy to visit. I got a headfish necktie at the museum shop. August 25, 1999.
- Jellyfishes/Kaiyukan Aquarium - A special exhibition of Jellyfish at Kaiyukan Aquarium.
Jellyfish seems like a simple cereature, but the swimming manner may give us a philosophy of life. August 25, 1999.
- The Echizen Coast - The weather was so bad this summer, but we could swim in the sea anyhow. Mio became a good skin diver to get turban shells, which became a big objective of Yui for next year. August 23, 1999.
- Science Park / Fukui Pref - Its iMAX movie projected to the big planetarium dome was very so three dimensional that we almost got seasick. Scientific displays for kids were so nice too. In the local city, in Japan, there are so many brilliant public facilities which can be used only by few people. Imbalanced subsidy!! August 22, 1999.

- Kai went to see Pokemon Jets. He got two! Huge monsters. July 17, 1999.

- Kyoto Municipal Zoo
- Located in the Okazaki area which spreads out at the foot of the Higashiyama Mountains, Kyoto Municipal Zoo, the second oldest in Japan, opened in April of 1903. July 11, 1999.

- Old Dodge Cars - Museum/Austin - Natural Bridge Caverns - Enchanted Rock - Star Wars. June 5 - 7. Enchanted Rock is a well-known geological feature of the Central Mineral Region of Texas. The pinl granite which males up Enchanted Rock has a measured age of one billion years and is among the oldest exposed rock in North America. 18 miles north of Fredericksburg, Texas.
- ExpoLand - This is the first time we've visited ExpoLand in spite of only ten-mile drive from our house. Although complimentary tickets encouraged us to go there, do you know how much we spent for the amusements? While parents were crying and crying on a roller coaster (standing-up type), kids enjoyed ice cream on the quiet ground. Good and smart kids!!
- Golden Week - A succession of holidays from the end of April to the beginning of May. We spent leisure days, which is also money saving. Kids enjoyed mowing and climbing trees in the backyard. Good kids!!
- Tokyo Disneyland - Tokyo Disneyland. We met Mickey. April 5, 1999.
